libxdmcp6 software package provides X11 Display Manager Control Protocol library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libxdmcp6
libxdmcp6 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libxdmcp6 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libxdmcp6 *
You will get with libxdmcp6 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
